I have an Asheville opening reception on Friday, September 9 from 6-8 pm at the offices of Dr. Lulu's Naturopathic Clinic at 12 1/2 Wall Street, Suite M in Downtown Asheville. I have nine paintings there including this one, which is a favorite of mine. More information can be found in the Facebook invitation. Come on by for a beer and say hello!
It was a bit careless of me not to post here, but I had two additional shows in Maine during the month of August. My excuse for not posting... when you don't have always-available internet, a lot of stuff falls off my mental list of things to do.
August 12 the show "The Sea's Listless Chime" opened at the Deer Isle Artists Association Gallery in Deer Isle. In addition, on August 19 I had four works at the contemporary Maine artists exhibit at the Ellsworth Antiques Show at the Woodlawn Museum. Both shows were well received and have since closed. I've packed up my things and am now back in Asheville preparing for a new show this Friday. I'm packing up the art and getting ready for the show at the Swallowfield Shop and Gallery at 104 Main Street in Northeast Harbor, Maine on Mount Desert Island. The show runs from August 4 to 18 with an opening reception on August 4 from 4-7pm. Please come on by!
If you find yourself near Deer Isle, Maine between now and late August, give a call or send an email and plan to stop by the studio on Dunham's Point Road. I'd be happy to chat, and there is plenty of art and fine views. Just look for this sign!
Several of my small works will be on display at 12x12 All Members Show at the Deer Isle Artists Association Gallery at 15 Main Street, Deer Isle, Maine starting at 10AM on Friday, July 29 through August 11. The show will have 12" x 12" works on sale for $144 to benefit the DIAA. The reception will be Sunday, July 31 from 4-6pm.
This is a very popular sale, so if you are interested be sure to show up early-- a lot of work sells as soon as the doors open on July 29. What inspires an artist to create? Why do artists launch in so many different directions in their works? The artists of the Riverside Studios in the River Arts District explore these questions in “Inspirations: The Artist's View” opening the evening of Friday, May 20. The studio's artists will present their works alongside thoughts and quotes that serve as the foundation for their work. The show will include the artwork of Carol Armstrong, David Berry, Deanna Chilian, Patricia Cotterill, Nat Dickinson, Rosa Jung, Julie Miles, Brit Oie, and Lucretia Speas.
The preview party will take place Friday, May 20 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM where light food, homebrew beer, and refreshments will be served. Join the artists for the party, and visit that weekend for the River Arts District Studio Stroll on May 21 and 22. Riverside Studios is an spacious working studio and gallery at 174 W. Haywood Street in Asheville’s River Arts District, and is open to the public Monday to Saturday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM Join the Facebook event here. |
